Increase your confidence with a career advice session

People across Aotearoa New Zealand are benefitting from free career advice from trained career professionals through the Direct Career Service – and so can you.

Often it's the first time people have had professional career advice and they're finding it very helpful.

“I didn’t know what to expect and was nervous … I felt I must be doing something wrong to have all that experience and not be getting a job.

But the career practitioner sat down and explained everything really well. Having her point out why my CV wasn’t getting across the line – she taught me a lot …

I came away feeling confident and I now have two job interviews.”

Increased confidence in career decisions

Direct Career Service clients rated their confidence and knowledge about work, study and career decisions before and after their advice sessions.

Most had only a little confidence before their career advice sessions and reported feeling very confident afterwards.

The service was set up in October 2020 as part of an all-of-Government response to job losses because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
