Entry requirements

This programme is expected to attract people who already have some experience in the agricultural industry and may have a minimum of one year experience in the industry. Prospective students must be at least 16 years old at the time of starting the course. At the time of enrolment, students are required to provide a valid form of identification (Passport or Birth Certificate) to confirm their age. Adult students with demonstrated motivation and adequate literacy and numeracy skills will be considered for entry. There is no upper age limit for admission to this programme. Some courses within this programme require that the student complies with the legislative requirement for the minimum age of a person riding/driving certain vehicles.

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

Graduates of this programme will be able to describe the relevant aspects of work in an agriculture industry. In addition, they will be able to do up to three of the following: * use and/or maintain an agricultural vehicle, * install or maintain agriculture infrastructure, * use and/or maintain agriculture machinery, * work with livestock * control weeds. On successful completion of this programme, a graduate of this program will be able to work competently on a farm. All graduates will have the opportunity to progress their career in a land-based industry through further study.
