About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

Master of International Rural Development graduates will be able to create new knowledge, critically evaluate information and communicate effectively. They will have both quantitative and qualitative skills, be able to solve a range of both theoretical and practical problems, have acquired the ability to work independently and with groups and, where relevant to the discipline, be able to analyse data appropriately. Graduates will have a deep understanding of development processes, their application and their implications, particularly as they relate to areas of specialisation (Agribusiness, Economics, Finance and Tourism). Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to address problems of poverty and sustainable development in rural communities through development policies, intervention strategies and institutional innovations.
