Entry requirements
Completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent, have one year of work experience and hold relevant registration, or have completed the Degree of Bachelor of Nursing or Master of Nursing Science, hold relevant registration and have completed or be enrolled into a Nurse Practitioner Masters degree programme, or have passed 60 points in the Postgraduate Certificate in Paediatrics.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
PGDipPaed graduates will be culturally competent healthcare professionals with expert knowledge and skills in the care of paediatric patients and their whanau for common clinical presentations. Graduates will be able to stabilise paediatric emergencies and work within an interdisciplinary team to provide ongoing and definitive care. Graduates will be able to critically appraise literature and local protocols in order to regularly upskill and uphold best clinical practices for themselves and the teams and organisations in which they work. They will contribute to improvements in the quality and safety of paediatric care and equitable outcomes for local communities - including for Maori and marginalised populations.
