Entry requirements
To be eligible to enrol in this micro-credential, learners/ākonga must have:
1. A level 6 qualification or equivalent in a relevant field and be currently employed or have at least 1 year of relevant professional experience
OR
2. At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
Where relevant, evidence of English language competence may be in the form of:
- A formal test of English Language, evidence that the candidate has achieved, in the 2 years before the programme's start date, the required outcome for one of the internationally recognised proficiency tests as listed in the NZQA Programme Approval, Recognition, and Accreditation Rules (2022) (or as updated).
- The Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) or the Trinity College London Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CertTESOL)
- a Bachelor's degree, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Bachelor Honours Degree, Post-graduate Certificate, Post-graduate Diploma, Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree with English as the language of instruction from a tertiary education provider from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the United States.
