Entry requirements

Gateway ākonga Ākonga must be participating in the Gateway micro-credential as part of their NCEA level 1-3 and have a work placement in the electricity supply industry secured through their school, with Te Pūkenga TA Connexis supporting the school where required. Work-based ākonga Ākonga must be 16 years or older and employed in a role that will enable the ākonga to achieve the learning outcomes of the micro-credential. The ākonga must be engaged in a workplace that Te Pūkenga TA Connexis is contracted to support, and that provides an authentic workplace for training. To enrol ākonga in this micro-credential, Te Pūkenga TA Connexis enters into contractual arrangements, such as a training agreement, with individual ākonga and their employers. These arrangements outline the training and assessment obligations of all the parties. Within this agreement, a discussion on enrolment occurs among all parties, accompanied by an Employer Training Capacity Evaluation. During this evaluation, field kaimahi ensure that the employer provides the necessary environment, resources, and support for ākonga to successfully achieve the micro-credential.
