What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to apply introductory theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in te reo Māori, tikanga and toi.
The qualification meets the need of iwi, Māori and Aotearoa communities who are wanting to grow capability in understanding the significance of te reo Māori, tikanga and toi to identity, te ao Māori and Aotearoa.
Graduates of this qualification will be able to select and apply an introductory range of skills necessary to support their hapū, iwi and Aotearoa communities in the practice of te reo Māori, tikanga and toi.

Minimum requirements
To enter this programme, tauira must be: * 16 years or older * A New Zealand citizen (which includes citizens of Cook Island, Niue and Tokelau) * A New Zealand permanent resident currently living in New Zealand * An Australian citizen currently living in New Zealand * An Australian permanent resident who has a returning residents visa and is currently living in New Zealand * A learner with refugee status who is required to complete a programme to satisfy residency requirements
