What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is intended to provide an introductory pathway into the Combined Services or similar type organisations to work with whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori.

Graduates of this qualification will have developed their own cultural awareness and appreciation of diverse communities, communication techniques, and understanding of the importance and impacts of hauora (physical, mental and emotional wellbeing).

Minimum requirements

To enter this programme, tauira must be: * 17 years or older * A New Zealand citizen * A New Zealand permanent resident currently living in New Zealand * An Australian citizen currently living in New Zealand * An Australian permanent resident who has a returning residents visa and is currently living in New Zealand * Made aware of the entry requirements into the New Zealand Police * Made aware of the demands of the programme, and complete a diagnostic pre-entry literacy and numeracy assessment to identify learning support requirements
