About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This micro-credential is designed to provide an overview of New Zealand predator pests, focusing on rats, stoats and possums. Training will look at defining why these predators are pests, their impacts and control methods. The main focus will be on developing an effective predator control plan for your area and the importance of monitoring.
Learners will be required to complete 80 hours of learning and assessment to meet the learning outcomes. Recognition of Academic Credit is not available for this micro-credential.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
No minimum academic requirements. All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. Those applicants whose first language is not English should have an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall Academic score of at least 5.0 with no band lower than 5.0 issued within the last two years (or equivalent). - Refer to NZQA : https://www.nzqa.govt.nz/about-us/our-role/legislation/nzqarules/nzqf-related-rules/th e-table/ Applicants will be required to notify facilitation staff of any medical issues that NMIT and DOC need to be aware of. This should be done upon enrolment if the medical issue may impact upon the student's ability to meet the demands of the training.
