About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The programme is designed to broaden an individual's existing knowledge and skills gained from an unrelated undergraduate degree into the information technology field. Initially students will be counselled to undetake a selection of courses that will enable them to 'taste' across a broad area of information technology fields. Following this, the students can then choose specialized areas in which they can develop their expertise. * It encourages flexibility, acknowledging the diversity of the IT environment and the diversity in learner interest and needs. * It provides courses where the students can research and apply information technology knowledge and skills to a workplace. * It encourages participants to apply research skills to identify solutions to information technology problems or issues.

Minimum requirements
The academic entry requirement for the Master of Information Technology (240) is one of the following: an NZQF-listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent) including courses that develop an understanding of Information Technology; or at the Dean s discretion, where an applicant s situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above.
