Entry requirements
NCEA (with University Entrance); or New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology Essentials (Level 4); or evidence of ability to meet academic
requirements, and English language competency where English is not a first language.
For international applicants who come from non English speaking backgrounds, an IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5, or an equivalent relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined in NZQF related rules (Rule 18).

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The Bachelor of Applied Information Technology is a qualification designed to
prepare graduates for employment in both the hardware and software fields
of computing. Students will develop knowledge and skills that will enable
them to specialise in the design and maintenance of computer systems,
databases, programming, operating systems, computer networking, internet
and web development, and technical support for a wide range of industries.
Students will choose an area of specialisation from Networking and Technical
Support; Software Development; or Web Design and Development and
develop specific knowledge and skills in these areas that will assist them to
work effectively in their field of practice. Students who wish to pursue the
qualification without a specialist area will develop the knowledge and skills to
work as a generalist in the Information Technology field.
