About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the security sector with individuals who have obtained the fundamental knowledge and skills required to work as a security officer.
This qualification is suitable for individuals who want to operate as a security officer in the security industry or for individuals already operating in the security industry who would like to gain recognition for current experience.
Graduates will be capable of carrying out a broad range of tasks under limited supervision and will demonstrate transferable skills in a security work environment.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
This programme is only available to domestic students within New Zealand. Students must be aged at least 18yrs at the time of their enrolment. Students cannot be enrolled in a secondary school. It is highly recommended that candidates to programmes have a minimum entry requirement of the literacy and numeracy requirements for NCEA Level 1, or equivalent.
