This qualification is designed for experienced people working in the Health and Wellbeing sector; people wanting to enter the sector; and professionals seeking development opportunities within a health and wellbeing setting.
The Health and Wellbeing community of New Zealand will benefit from having graduates with the skills and knowledge required across a range of vocations and disciplines, to support people to achieve their health and wellbeing aspirations.
Graduates of this qualification will work independently as practitioners in some sectors, or under the supervision of professional or qualified clinicians, in others.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Academic Entry requirements Entry is open to all learners who are over 18 years (16 years for domestic students) at the time of enrolment and the start date of the programme. To be admitted to this programme, all applicants must meet the following requirements: Face-to-face: Entry Requirements (Domestic learners) Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. - Over 16 years of age - Attained NCEA Level 2 (or equivalent) AND have a keen interest in working in the health support, previous work experience as a volunteer or paid in a health support role is recommended but not a requirement, and successfully attend an interview. Establish themselves as a fit and proper person before entry and before undertaking a through the following: - Have a satisfactory report from New Zealand Police vetting system if in NZ; learners must complete the form to authorise Skill New Zealand to apply for this report. Before undertaking a work placement to ensure ongoing compliance as a fit and proper person. - Sign an Attestation Statement that nothing has occurred that would change the initial police check. - Provide a current CV for the workplace. - Undergo a pre-employment drug and alcohol if this is required of the organisation where the placement will be undertaken. - Any legislation checks that are context specific for the organisational policies and procedures of the workplace, such as Children's Act 2014. Face-to-face: Entry Requirements (International learners) International learners must possess the appropriate New Zealand learner visa and appropriate medical and travel insurance. - Over 18 years of age Enrolled full-time. hold a level 3 qualification or equivalent and all above as domestic students IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5 or equivalent Blended Learning: Entry Requirements (Domestic learners only) - Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. - Over 16 years of age - NCEA Level 2 (or equivalent) - AND as above as domestic
