About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for those who have advanced knowledge and understanding of mātauranga Māori, and extensive experience working with Māori communities.
The purpose of this qualification is to provide graduates who can lead, promote, and enhance the continued development of Māori Public Health, and encourage Māori to take control of their social, economic, cultural, and collective wellbeing.
Graduates will be able to design and evaluate Māori Public Health initiatives incorporating social, economic, cultural and environmental contexts that contribute to the reduction of Māori health inequities.

Minimum requirements
For this programme, prospective tauira must: - be a New Zealand Citizen, New Zealand Permanent Resident, Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident - have completed the New Zealand Diploma in Whanau Ora (Level 5), a related qualification or equivalent work experience - be employed within a Whanau Ora, hauora or related services setting - undergo an interview in order to determine readiness and suitability to the programme
