This qualification is for akonga/learners who are seeking the skills and conceptual knowledge to effectively apply creative processes and practices across a broad range of contexts.

A range of industries and communities will benefit from graduates who possess a broad range of creative skills.

Graduates will be able to operate independently within a broad range of creative contexts.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Prospective students must be 16 years or older. It is preferred that students participating in the distance [online] delivery have access to a device capable of watching videos (online or DVD) and can take and upload photographs, and have access to a Chrome browser. If a student does not have access to any of these devices the programme can be delivered non-digitally. International: Prospective students must have a valid student visa. The programme is taught in English. Prospective international students who choose to study on campus, must have achieved an Academic score of 5.5 (with no band score lower than 5), or equivalent; if English is not their first language. Prospective students with a Level 4 New Zealand certificate may be considered for direct entry to the programme. Applicants without a certificate may be considered if they can demonstrate relevant experience and ability to complete a Level 5 programme. During the admissions process prospective students are supplied with an enrolment pack containing a current prospectus and general information about The Learning Connexion and programmes offered. For additional and/or more detailed information, links are given to the TLC web site https://www.tlc.ac.nz/enrolment/term-dates-and-fees/additional-costs/ which contains information about programmes, delivery options, costs, classes, class related costs, staff, maps etc. Course material costs vary according to a student's chosen field, the normal range is between $10-$50/week. Detailed information is published in the TLC prospectus. A starter pack of materials valued at $100 is supplied to students two weeks before their start date. Resource books in printed or digital format (for distance delivery) are included in the programme costs. Prospective students participate in an informal conversation or interview, as appropriate, to discuss the student's goals and plans and to answer any questions they may have.
