What can I expect out of this qualification?
The Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Level 7) is developed for candidates who have knowledge and background of electrical engineering with a completed course of study in electrical engineering at Level 5, or with equivalent skills and knowledge, and want to develop more specialist knowledge and skills, as per requirements of the industry.
The purpose of qualification is to provide skilled graduates to different sectors of the electrical engineering industry including telecommunication and networks; and electronics and embedded systems. The program aims to produce graduates which are fit to provide services in the global and New Zealand's electrical industry.
Graduates with specialisation in telecommunication and networks will have the knowledge and practical skills needed to fulfil current requirements of the telecommunication and enterprise networks industry including the needs of: optical fibre installers; telecommunication and network engineers and technicians; and enterprise network administrators.
Graduates with specialization in electronics and embedded systems will be able to provide services in electronic product development, design, implementation, PCB construction, and testing in the global and New Zealand's industry of electronics and embedded systems.

Minimum requirements
Allicants must have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Level 5) or equivalent knowledge and skills. If English is not their first language and for International students an overall IELTS Academic band score of at least 6.0 is required with no band score lower than 5.5 or evidence must be provided of equivalent English language proficiency.
