About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the construction and infrastructure sectors with skilled tradespeople who are able to safely and independently fabricate, assemble, install and pre commission mechanical building service systems.
This qualification is designed to recognise the skills and knowledge of people working in the mechanical building services industry.
Graduates will be able to operate independently and will have some responsibility for the performance of others.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
It is recommended, but not required, that people enrolling in a programme leading to this qualification will hold the National Certificate in Education Achievement (NCEA) Level 2 [Ref: 0973] or equivalent. People enrolling in this programme must hold a relevant position in a Mechanical Building Services organisation. The position should ensure that the qualification graduate profile outcomes can be met. There must be an apprenticeship training agreement between the trainee, ATNZ and the Employer. ATNZ Limited may enrol trainees working in New Zealand under work visas into this programme without being a signatory to The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, until 31 December 2023.
