What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is:
- to provide competent employees who are able to work in senior retail or customer service or specialist roles in the retail sector;
- to provide a credential for those individuals who are working in senior retail or customer service or specialist roles, that will support their career opportunities across a range of organisations in the retail sector;
- to provide standards of professional practice for retail sector specialist roles that contribute to improving performance and productivity in the workplace and providing customers with a positive retail experience.

Minimum requirements
To gain entry to the New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Level 4) programme, applicants must be able to demonstrate adequate literacy and numeracy skills to enable them to meet all academic and health and safety requirements of the programme/course on which they enrol. English language requirements for this programme will be in accordance with the criteria specified in the Waiariki Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Regulatory Framework (Academic Regulations).
