About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the public health sector with a workforce with common generic public health and health promotion competencies.
Graduates will work with groups and communities to promote and protect public health, and improve health outcomes in a public health context. They will demonstrate the baseline knowledge, skills and attributes required of public health and/or health promotion practitioners, to implement public health initiatives.

Minimum requirements
Good character and a genuine desire to work in the health/social services field; commitment to living and role modelling health and wellbeing with a clear intention to be of service to others; academic capability for tertiary study at Level 5; current on-the-job experience in the health or social service sector; demonstrated commitment to study and succeeding; successful NZ Police vetting check (Vulnerable Children's Act)
