We’re moving to a new careers planning website

The careers.govt.nz website is transitioning to a new careers planning website later this year. More details on the new website and the future of careers.govt.nz will be coming soon.

You’ll start to see updates on this website for careers.govt.nz users, which will include a link to this information page where you’ll find more details on any upcoming changes.

What’s changing

• The CV Builder tool will no longer be available from 18 September 2025.
• Your saved CV will no longer be available on careers.govt.nz from this date.

What you need to do before 18 September

• Download your CV before 18 September
  If you have saved your CV to your careers.govt.nz account and want to keep it, you’ll need to download and save it to another device, such as your mobile phone, computer, tablet or USB, before 18 September 2025.
• Create and download a new CV before 18 September
  If you want to use CV Builder to create a new CV, you’ll need to create your CV, then download and save it to another device, such as your mobile phone, computer, tablet or USB, before 18 September 2025.

Why it’s changing

The digital platform that hosts careers.govt.nz website is ending on 18 September 2025 and we are moving the website to a new hosting platform on that date. Unfortunately, CV Builder is not compatible with the new platform and will no longer be available from that date.

Everything else stays the same

Everything else on the website is staying the same and you won’t see any difference when you search for, or log on to, the careers.govt.nz website.

We are legally required to delete your CV information from 18 September 2025

TEC is legally required to delete all saved CV Builder information from 18 September 2025 for privacy reasons. This means we can’t provide it to you after 18 September even if you ask us for it.
